How To Run New Games On Old Computers With No Graphic Card
Graphic cards have always been a "must-have" device for all gamers since the last decade as the games have become progressively graphic intense. New games, even comparatively old games require a graphic card to run at its best resolution and graphics. Still a large majority of people do not own a graphic card, mostly because they do not want to play games or because they cannot afford it.This post if for those people who want to play a new game but stuck with internal graphics. This post explains how to run comparatively new games on a PC which is old or doesn't have a dedicated graphics card.
The tool we use for this is known as Swift Shader which was developed by transgaming.com. This neat piece of software can fix errors such as "unable to initialize 3d" which is encountered by most who do not have dedicated graphics. The most important feature of this software is that it can force games to render using CPU instead of GPU (Graphics Processing Unit).
Here are the pros and cons of Swift Shader:
Pros
- Can use CPU instead of GPU for rendering games
- Very easy to use
- Small File size
- Only two files
Cons
- Demo version
- Swiftshader logo on bottom when playing game
- Graphics detail will be low
- The game may lag depending on hardware
First download swiftshader from this link. Now extract the two files inside the zip to the game folder of the game which you want to play. Thats it! Now you can play the game you wanted. Remember that with this trick you cannot expect the same performance of a system dedicated graphics card. This is impossible as the graphics card unlike CPU specifically engineered to render games, it has no other purpose.
If you have a graphics card or have a powerful enough internal graphics, the swift shader will actually decrease performance as it concentrates on CPU to render games and does not use the other hardware at all.
Comment if you have any problems.
